A Forex sign is a 5 mm white rigid PVC foam board printed directly – at folie.ch from CHF 22.–, making it the most affordable larger sign in our range. It’s very light, can be fixed with adhesive pads, cord or screws, and is ideal for trade fairs, shop fitting, events and interiors. You design it online from 1 piece, we print it in Wallisellen and ship it across Switzerland.

What is Forex – and when is it the right choice?
Forex is a common name for foamed rigid PVC boards. Thanks to the foamed core, the 5 mm board is much lighter than Alu-Dibond or acrylic glass, has a smooth matt white surface and takes print cleanly. It’s rigid enough for formats of over a metre, but not as impact-resistant or heat-resistant as an aluminium composite panel.
The rule of thumb: Forex for anything that hangs indoors or stands outdoors for just a few weeks. For permanent signs on a facade or fence, Alu-Dibond is the better choice, as PVC foam can warp over time in strong sunlight and with big temperature swings.

Which formats are available? A sizes at a glance
Four of the five standard formats match familiar paper sizes – handy if you’ve already designed a poster in an A format:

You can enter any other size from 100 × 50 to 3000 × 1500 mm directly in millimetres in the designer. Besides square corners, rounded corners, round and oval signs are possible – a round Forex sign with a 300 mm diameter, for example, is a popular logo display on a trade fair stand.
How do I put up a Forex sign?
Because the board is so light, simple fixings are all you need:
- Adhesive pads (option): for smooth walls, glass, exhibition walls and furniture – no drilling needed.
- 4 drill holes Ø 5 mm (option): for screwing on or for hanging from the ceiling on nylon cord, for example as a department sign above a shelf.
- Hook-and-loop tape or double-sided tape from a specialist shop: handy for fabric and exhibition walls.
For a ceiling sign that needs to be readable from both sides: double-sided printing isn’t available in the designer – simply order two identical signs and stick them together back to back.
Design tips for trade fair and shop signs
- One message per board: at a trade fair stand, people read a sign in a few seconds while walking past.
- Photos in good resolution: for an A1 sign, a photo should be at least around 3500 pixels wide so it stays sharp up close.
- QR code instead of long texts: in the designer you can create a QR code linking to your website or a form; on trade fair signs, make it at least 4 × 4 cm.
- Remove the background: logos in a white box can be cut out with one AI click so they sit cleanly on a coloured background.

Frequently asked questions
Can a Forex sign hang outdoors?
For a few weeks, for example at a festival or on a building site, that’s possible. For permanent outdoor signs we recommend Alu-Dibond, as PVC foam can warp in sun and heat.
What’s the difference between Forex and Alu-Dibond?
Forex is a light PVC foam board for indoor use and more affordable; Alu-Dibond is an aluminium composite panel for permanent outdoor use. Both are printed directly.
Are Forex signs available in A3 or A1?
Yes, A3 (420 × 297 mm), A2 (594 × 420 mm) and A1 (841 × 594 mm) are standard formats in the designer.
How heavy is a Forex sign?
Thanks to the foamed core, Forex is much lighter than solid plastic or aluminium boards. An A2 sign can easily be fixed with adhesive pads.
Is there a volume discount on Forex signs?
Yes, for identical signs in one order line you get 5 % off from 5 pieces, 10 % from 10 pieces and 15 % from 25 pieces – for example for matching promotional or information boards in several branches.
Can I have a photo printed on a board?
Yes, Forex is well suited to frameless photo prints. Upload the image in the designer; if the resolution is too low, we’ll get in touch before printing.
