Who benefits most from Sprinter lettering?
Around Zurich, the Sprinter is the workhorse of the trades: electricians, plumbers and heating engineers, painters, plasterers and joiners drive it from site to site every day. That is exactly why lettering pays off here – the van stands outside the customer’s house for hours, where neighbours see it who will soon have the same problem.
Other typical Sprinter businesses:
- Removal and transport companies, courier services
- Landscaping and caretaking firms with tool racking
- Catering, trade fair and event technology
- Cleaning companies with several teams and vehicles
Which areas of the Sprinter work hardest?
The most important advertising space on the Sprinter is the driver side: on vans without a second sliding door, the side panel from the B-pillar to the rear is one long, uninterrupted surface – ideal for your company name in large letters.
| Area | Characteristics | Our recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Driver side | long panel, hardly interrupted | company name large, services below |
| Passenger side | sliding door splits the area, rail at the top rear | logo on the sliding door, contact on the panel behind it |
| Rear barn doors | two doors with a centre gap | phone or website, don’t split words across the gap |
| Driver and passenger doors | window and handle | logo or short slogan below the window |
| Front | narrow bonnet, large grille | website above the windscreen or small on the bonnet |
The passenger side needs a little planning: when opened, the sliding door glides over the rear side panel, and the guide rail sits visibly at window-line height. We therefore position lettering so that the door gap falls between two words rather than running through the middle of a letter.
What do we watch out for with swages, handles and windows?
The Sprinter has a pronounced crease line above the wheel arches and gentle swage lines in the panels; we work the vinyl carefully into these so that it doesn’t lift.
- Swages and edges: Fine lettering across a swage line looks distorted. The best place for your company name is the smooth area between the bottom edge of the windows and the wheel-arch line.
- Handle recesses: We cut the vinyl out around the door handle. Small text shouldn’t sit right next to it, or you’ll end up missing half a letter.
- Windows: If your Sprinter has windows in the sliding door or rear doors, plan text on the bodywork only. The windscreen and front side windows always stay clear for visibility.
- Fuel flap: It gets covered too, but is cleanly cut so that it still opens.
Design tips: keep your Sprinter readable from a distance
On the side of a Sprinter, your company name should be at least 15–25 cm high and the phone number 8–12 cm – that way both are readable across the width of a street and while driving past.
- One main message per side: Your name plus one line of services (“Electrical · Lighting · Smart Home”) is enough. Nobody reads long lists of services in traffic.
- Colour band instead of a full wrap: A coloured stripe in your company colour along the lower half looks bold and costs far less than a full wrap.
- Use the rear doors: Whoever is stuck behind you at the lights has time – this is where your website and phone number belong, in large letters.
- White Sprinter: Dark cut vinyl lettering looks clean and is affordable on white. On dark paint, white, yellow or silver work well.
- Roof edge: On the H1, the upper edge of the side panel is clearly visible at eye level – a calm area for your website.
How much does lettering a Mercedes Sprinter cost?
The simplest option with logo and contact details (approx. 1 m² of cut vinyl) costs approx. CHF 400.– including fitting and VAT. With a large company name on both sides, rear lettering and a colour band, the area – and therefore the price – goes up. The packages at the top of this page show the usual levels; in the Sprinter designer the guide price is calculated for exactly your design.
If you run a fleet, a consistent design pays off: for several Sprinters with identical lettering you get 5 % (from 2), 10 % (from 5) or 15 % (from 10) off. If your Sprinter has a high roof, a different wheelbase or is a dropside, send us photos via the contact form – we’ll prepare the quote to your measurements.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to have a Mercedes Sprinter lettered?
Logo and contact details (approx. 1 m² of cut vinyl) cost approx. CHF 400.– including fitting and VAT. For larger designs, the designer instantly calculates a guide price.
Does the template also fit my Sprinter with a high roof or long wheelbase?
The online template is the L2H1 panel van (2018–2026). We also letter other lengths, high-roof versions and older Sprinters – just send us photos of all sides.
Can the lettering run across the sliding door?
Yes. We cut the vinyl cleanly at the door gap so the sliding door opens normally. Ideally, plan for the gap to fall between two words.
What should go on the Sprinter’s rear doors?
Your website or phone number in large letters. Traffic behind you sees the rear doors for the longest time, for example in a queue or at the lights.
Will my leased Sprinter be as good as new once the vinyl is removed?
The vinyl is removable and protects the paint underneath from scratches and UV light. When you return the leased vehicle, it can be taken off again.
How long does the Sprinter need to stay in the workshop?
That depends on the scope; lettering with text and a logo is often done within one day. We arrange the appointment after your quote request.
